?How does this work?

This player gives you the melody and two harmonies. Tap a part to mute it, use 8va to drop it an octave if it sits too high for you, and drag the notes sideways to move where it plays from.

Learning a harmony for the first time:

  1. Mute everything except your own line, and pull the Speed slider down to around 70%.
  2. Press Loop a verse — it repeats one verse over and over, so you can stay with a small piece until it sits in your body. The ‹ › arrows move to the next verse.
  3. Sing along with the loop. Let it go around several times before you judge how it's going.
  4. Bring the speed back to 100%, still looping.
  5. Unmute the melody and keep singing your line against it. Then unmute the other harmony.
  6. Turn the loop off and sing the whole chant through.

If you get pulled onto someone else's line, that's normal — mute them again, find your note, and go round the loop once more.

The key here follows the key selector above, so you can practise in whatever key suits your voice. Setting it back to the recording's key lets you sing along with the recording at the top of the page.
